I wasn’t sure spending 5 days out in the mountains would be my cup of tea – I was wrong! We all had a terrific time at Tuckaway. We’ve been to and stayed at many fine places all over the world and I’d have to say Tuckaway Ridge is one of my favorites. You folks have created a little slice of heaven here and I’d like to thank you for allowing us to share it for a little while. There are many adjectives I will add here…warm, inviting, peaceful, serene, simple, relaxing, and CLASSY! From the minute we walked in we were stunned and excited about the place. I kept pinching myself. How lucky we were to stay here…and how time flew! It went quickly whether you were relaxing and doing nothing or participating in all the activities the area has to offer!

Our group agreed that this was one of the best vacations ever! The basement/rec room area was perfect for the kids to hang out, not to mention the bunk beds themselves were a real treat! The adults enjoyed family games in the living room and preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen. The kids loved horseback riding and the Scenic Train ride. We all enjoyed the hike to the waterfall. Thanks for opening up your cabin to us.

Tuckaway Ridge is located less than 4 miles from downtown Blue Ridge, GA. Blue Ridge is a quaint little town that is definitely gaining an “upscale” reputation and has often been compared to what Highlands, NC was many years ago. The downtown area is very charming with numerous antique stores, specialty stores, restaurants, fudge shops and more. Many of the older buildings are undergoing restoration to their original state from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. There is also the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway (which travels along the Toccoa River), Whitewater River Rafting on the Ocoee River (the 1996 Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking Olympic Site), 300 miles of hiking trails (40% of the county where Tuckaway Ridge is located is National Forest), apple orchards, and three nearby 18-hole golf courses. Also, fishing, jet skis, and swimming are available in nearby Lake Blue Ridge. Of course, we like to just sit back, look at the view, read a book, or watch the 42” Plasma TV!
